Picture 1: Lorne's snow plow... The wonders of that AWD had him pushing snow all over the yard, had to even make his own parking place.

Picture 2: Nav's Alf-mobile.

Picture 3: Steve and his car after a fresh cleaning. There was about 6" of snow on it... Oh, and that's mine behind his - tucked away forthe winter in the garage. It had already been taken off the insurance and I was driving my little 89 Toyota Celica I picked up for the long winters we have...

Picture 4: That's Jimmy and his "jimmy red" VR-4. He actually made the trip up Saturday morning, opting to wait out the storm.

The Weekend:
Well, beginning of that week, some of us decided to get together and hang out for the weekend. Middle of that week, the weather started to look like it wasn't going to be too friendly by the end of the week.

Friday arrived... And so did Old Man Winter, and he was in a fury! Bear in mind that up til this point we had not seen much more than a tiny flurry. Well, I called around and turns out that everyone was still gonna make the trip!

Steve was the first to arrive, well into the evening (like 8pm). He called from a nearby hotel and I went to meet him and lead him to my house. HA! If only it'd been that easy. My house happend to be at the bottom of the only one-way street in town. And all 3 ways to get to it require going up a hill. Well, first hill, I made it up no probs (snow tires on my winter car). Steve and his 'Z' rated tires only made it half way. While backing up to turn around, he got stuck in a snow bank. Two guys helped us get the car out. Next try was up the hill my house is on, only had to make it about 50 feet. No can do. Not enough road for a running start... Third hill, a little less steep. First 3 tries failed, there was a bit of a hump we couldn't make it over. Again two people (different ones) helped. I was driving by this time had it pegged and we finally got past that point and I spun the tires all the way up the rest of the way (about 150 yards). Then down my road and parked it.

Just as I was parking my car, Lorne called and said he was there. I met him at the gas station and drove his car over and it made it up the hill no problem. Wonders of AWD! Lorne had a little fun plowing his car around the yard and kicking up snow all over.

Shortly thereafter Nav showed up. Jimmy had called and said he was going to wait until Saturday morning and wait out the storm. Good call. By Saturday morning we had dumped on us nearly a foot of snow!!!

The rest of the weekend, we just hung out, ate, drove around, played video games (Mario Kart!), watched some movies, ate more (gotta keep Nav fed!).
